PILGRIM’S PLUNDER!
This year, SJV, will be sponsoring Pilgrim’s Plunder for
grades 6-8. PILGRIM’S PLUNDER will start
Monday, November 3, and will go to Wednesday, November 19.
All of the money that is
collected will go to Saint Vincent De Paul for turkeys for
the Thanksgiving Baskets.
Each student will
be given a baggie with a hungry turkey in it. From
November 3-19, students need to FEED THEIR TURKEY with money
donations. Each student needs to return the filled bag on
Wednesday, November 19. Our goal is to raise $1,000. That
means each student needs to contribute at least $5. Just
think of all the ways you can save up $5 during these two
weeks-skip that after school Slurpee and FEED YOUR TURKEY;
skip that new lip gloss or cute shirt, ladies, and FEED YOUR
TURKEY; give that new video game or the latest CD a miss,
gentlemen, and FEED YOUR TURKEY.
REMEMBER
THIS IS YOUR SACRIFICIAL DONATION TO HELP THE POOR AND
HUNGRY OF OUR PARISH AT THANKSGIVING.
Bags of Bounty!
Bags
of Bounty will be the Thanksgiving project for pre-school-5th
grade. We are asking each family to fill a bag full of
Thanksgiving food with a money donation for a turkey for
Thanksgiving. Please bring your bags of bounty into school from
Monday, November 3 through Friday, November 21
Food Items:
-canned corn
-canned peas
-instant mashed potatoes
-canned cranberries/sauce
-boxed stuffing mix
-canned yams/sweet potatoes
-holiday cookies
-candy
-$5.00
DONATION TOWARDS A TURKEY (IN AN ENVELOPE AND SENT TO THE SCHOOL
OFFICE MARKED THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE.)
